Pay What You Can / Pay With a Can Program
ticketing

Mustard Seed Theatre is dedicated to making theatre available to everyone and being a socially conscious member of the greater St. Louis Community. The Pay What You Can/ Pay with a Can program allows people who can not afford to pay the ticket price to see the show with only a canned food donation or whatever small donation they can afford to pay.  Since its inception in 2007, Mustard Seed Theatre has hosted 58 Pay What You Can/Pay With a Can performances for over 4000 audience members and donated hundreds of pounds of canned food and dry goods to the St. Vincent de Paul and Blessed Theresa of Calcutta Food Pantries.

Pay What You Can/Pay With a Can performances are marketed on our website, by our box office staff and in press releases and show programs. Increasingly, the Pay What You Can/Pay With a Can performances are playing to sold out audiences.

For the past eight years, Mustard Seed Theatre’s Pay What You Can/Pay With a Can program has been offset with private donations. However, private donations DO NOT cover the costs of these performances. As the popularity of the Pay What You Can/Pay With a Can program increases, the revenue available to pay for the production costs decrease.  We need someone who CAN pay to fill the gap. The ticket income Mustard Seed Theatre “loses” through this program totals approximately $15,000 – 25,000 annually.
