RESIDENT ARTISTS

DEANNA JENT, Artistic Director
Deanna JentDeanna is a Professor of Theatre at Fontbonne University, where she has been teaching and directing shows since the fall of 1995. She holds a Ph.D. in Theatre from Northwestern University. She is the past editor of Christianity and Theatre magazine, a playwright, a former theatre critic (for The Riverfront Times) and has directed at many of the professional theatres in St. Louis. She lives in Webster Groves with her husband Steve, and three teenaged children: Chris, Lindzey & Andy.
GARY WAYNE BARKER
Gary Wayne Barker Gary is an active St. Louis actor and director. Local highlights include AN ALMOST HOLY PICTURE with Mustard Seed Theatre, TWELVE ANGRY MEN for The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Lady Bracknell in the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre production of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, Boolie in DRIVING MISS DAISY (he was awarded the 2005 Kevin Kline Award for Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actor) at The New Jewish Theatre, and Sam in THE HOMECOMING (for which he was given a Judy Award by the Post-Dispatch) at City Players.

A proud member of Actors' Equity Association, Gary holds an MFA in Acting from Michigan State University, with advanced study at The Actors' Center in New York and the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. He is Chair of Fine and Performing Arts and Professor of Theatre at Saint Louis University.
PEGGY BILLO
Peggy Billo

Peggy has been a member of Actors' Equity Association for over 25 years appearing in regional theatres across the country as well as touring nationally.  Prior to her move to St Louis in 2007 she lived in Los Angeles where, as a member of the critically acclaimed Road Theatre, she appeared in BUNBURY which garnered an LA Ovation Nomination and an Artistic Director Achievement Award for Best Ensemble.  During Peggy's first year in St Louis she had the great fortune to play Krist'n Taler in Mustard Seed's REMNANT, which received a Kevin Kline Best Ensemble nomination that year.  She has also appeared in MOTHER TERESA IS DEAD for Mustard Seed.  Other St Louis theatres she has worked with include New Jewish Theatre, Muddy Waters, Stages St Louis, and Avalon, as well as Ozark Actor's Theatre and The Arrow Rock Lyceum. She is honored to be asked to join such a dedicated group of theatre artists working to bring Mustard Seed's mission statement to St. Louis audiences.

KAREEM DEANES
Kareem DeanesKareem is pusuing an MA in Theatre Education and Speech/Theatre Teaching Certification. Kareem appeared in Mustard Seed's THE GOOD TIMES ARE KILLING ME. As a Sound Designer, he has worked for Mustard Seed Theatre, numerous Fontbonne productions, ACT Inc., and Soundstage Productions.
GARY GLASGOW
Gary GlasgowGary is a member of Actors' Equity Association and appeared in THE UNSEEN. He joined the faculty of the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University in 1993, and has extensive local and regional acting experience. Gary was seen most recently in ANNIE at the Muny and THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR at Shakespeare Festival St. Louis.
NANCY LEWIS
Nancy LewisNancy appeared as Escalus in MEASURE FOR MEASURE in 2008 and has worked with many St. Louis theatre companies. She was a 2006 recipient of a Kevin Kline Award for Outstanding Actress in a Play for her work in The Orange Girls' production of GOING TO SEE THE ELEPHANT.
KELLEY RYAN
Kelley RyanKelley is Director of Theater for Clayton High School. She holds a Master’s in Fine Arts in Acting from University of Missouri, Kansas City and the Kansas City Rep. Her Bachelor’s degree is in Philosophy and Literature from Wheaton College. Kelley was an artist-in-residence in New York Public Schools and in Kansas City Public Schools on projects of social relevance. Last year, she directed INTO THE WOODS, which won the 2006 Cappies Award for Best Musical in St. Louis. Kelley is a Master Teacher and Curriculum Specialist for the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival. Most recently, she co-authored an original play, AND CARL LAUGHED, at CHS which toured St. Louis churches and performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2007. She has two beautiful children, Hannah and Ethan, and is married to Steve Ryan.
MICHAEL SULLIVAN
Michael SullivanMichael is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and St. Louis University. Michael has been the Lighting Designer and Technical Director for over 80 productions at Fontbonne. He also works as a carpenter for Shakespeare Festival St. Louis and as a Lighting Designer for other theatre companies in St. Louis. He is married to Jane Brouke Sullivan and has two children, Mark and Zoe.
LESLIE WOBBE
Leslie WobbeLeslie is a graduate of Fontbonne University with a degree in Arts Management. She has worked in the St. Louis theatre community for the past 17 years as an actress (Leslie Unterreiner) and Assistant Director for various companies. She has been a board member of Act Inc for over 10 years. She has also worked for the Arts and Education Council, Young Audiences of St. Louis, and the St. Louis Regional Arts Commission. She has a husband and two boys ages 5 and 3.
